WEIGHTMAN, Franklin Case, age 82, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away on February 6. He was born on December 25, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Norma Weightman; his stepfather, Frank C. Chuchek; and his beloved wife of 49 years, Jane Virgallito Weightman.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth W. Solomon (David Solomon); his cherished grandsons, Jackson and Cooper Solomon; his sisters, Jeanne (Dupuy) Sears and Joanne (Carroll) Goodrich; and his partner, Ramona Anderson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Frank was a lifelong learner and dedicated educator. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory & Henry University, his master’s degree from East Tennessee State University, and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He spent 19 years as a college professor, shaping young minds with wisdom and compassion. Later, he embarked on a second career as a financial advisor with Radian Partners, where he worked until retiring at the age of 75.
He was known for his deep love of family, unwavering faith, loyal friendships, and his enthusiasm for UNC basketball. Frank was a kind and remarkably generous man who never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome wherever he went.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. A Celebration of Life will follow at TJ Chumps in Huber Heights, OH at 6:00 PM
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for their kind, professional, and compassionate care during Frank’s final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
